Hair Masks for Dry Scalp
Mix 5 teaspoons of henna powder with lime juice, 2-3 teaspoons of curd, and 3-4 teaspoons of sesame oil. Apply to the scalp and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with a mild shampoo or Triphala powder.
Combine pulp from papaya, banana, and apple. Add 3-4 teaspoons of honey and 2-3 teaspoons of coconut oil. Apply to the scalp, leave it on for 30-40 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
Mix 2-3 teaspoons of fresh milk cream with 2-3 teaspoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of turmeric. Apply to the scalp. This mask helps with dryness and dandruff.
Blend 2-3 teaspoons of holy basil paste with 1 teaspoon of lime juice and 2 teaspoons of castor oil. Apply to the scalp and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. It relieves dryness and eliminates bad odor.
Prepare a paste using 4-5 teaspoons of turmeric and Triphala powder, mixed with 2-3 teaspoons of honey and 1-2 teaspoons of olive or sesame oil. Apply to the scalp, leave for 15-20 minutes, then rinse. This is helpful for dryness and recurring scalp boils.
Mix full cream curd with 2-3 teaspoons each of aloe vera pulp and almond oil. Let the mixture rest in an iron vessel overnight. Apply to the scalp for 30-40 minutes, then wash with a mild shampoo. Helps with dryness and premature graying.
Grate one carrot and mix it with 2 teaspoons of sesame seeds, 4-5 teaspoons of buttermilk, and 2 teaspoons of honey. Blend into a paste and apply to the scalp for 30-35 minutes. Rinse thoroughly afterwards.
Hair Masks for Dry Scalp During Winter / For Dandruff
Use once a week
- Hibiscus Mask: Blend 15-20 hibiscus flowers (fresh or dried) with 3-4 teaspoons of honey, 3 teaspoons of castor oil, and 3-4 teaspoons of lime juice. Let the mixture rest in an iron vessel overnight or for 1-2 nights. Apply to the scalp for 15-20 minutes during the day, then wash off.
- Banana & Coconut Mask: Mash one ripe banana and add 2-3 teaspoons each of honey and coconut oil. Apply for 20-30 minutes, then wash thoroughly.
- Almond Oil & Triphala Mask: Mix 3-4 teaspoons of almond oil with 2 teaspoons of curd and 5-6 teaspoons of Triphala powder. Apply to the scalp for 15-20 minutes, then rinse. Best used during the day.
Hair Masks for Oily Scalp (Summer/Hot Weather)
Apply once or twice a week
- Rose Petal & Sandalwood Mask: Blend a bowl of fresh or dried rose petals with 1-2 teaspoons of sandalwood oil, a few drops of menthol extract (optional), and 1 teaspoon of sandalwood powder. Apply to the scalp for 20-30 minutes, then rinse.
- Multani Mitti & Amla Mask: Mix Multani mitti (Fuller’s Earth) with 3-4 teaspoons of amla powder, 1 teaspoon of jaggery, and 4-5 teaspoons of rose water. Apply the paste to the scalp and leave on for 20-30 minutes before washing.
- Triphala & Rosewater Mask: Combine 7-8 teaspoons of Triphala powder with 5-6 teaspoons of rose water and 2-3 teaspoons of honey. Apply to the scalp for 15-20 minutes and rinse off.
Hair Masks for the Rainy Season
Apply once or twice a week
- Honey & Basil Mask: Mix 2-3 teaspoons of honey with 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil and 1-2 teaspoons of basil or mint leaf paste. Apply to the scalp and leave for 15-20 minutes before rinsing.
- Multani Mitti & Lime Mask: Mix 2-3 teaspoons of Multani mitti with 2 teaspoons of honey, 3-4 teaspoons of Triphala powder, and 1 teaspoon of lime juice. Leave on the scalp for 15-20 minutes before rinsing.
