  • Joint pain and inflammation, especially in knees and hips.

  • Breathlessness while walking or climbing stairs.

  • When Should You See a Doctor?

  • If your BMI is between 25 and 30, it indicates overweight, and lifestyle changes like diet and exercise can help.

  • However, a BMI of 30 or more signals obesity; it's advisable to consult a healthcare provider or Ayurvedic doctor. They can offer a personalized treatment plan, including herbal medication and a specific diet regimen.

  • Effective Home Remedies for Obesity and Weight Loss

  • Follow a wholesome diet. Avoid oily, fatty, processed foods, butter, cheese, and refined flour.

  • Cut down on sweets, sugary desserts, and dairy-rich items like curd, milkshakes, and paneer. Excess sugar and dairy can lead to fat accumulation.

  • If you enjoy fruits with higher sugar content, such as mango, banana, sugarcane, coconut, sweet melon, jaggery, and sweet potatoes, eat them occasionally and in moderation.

  • Limit or avoid refined oils, processed sugars, junk foods, cold drinks, alcohol, and artificially sweetened beverages. These are empty calories and hinder fat loss.

  • Drinking a warm cup of ginger tea with honey (add honey after the tea cools slightly) in the morning helps boost metabolism and supports fat burning.

  • Incorporate cow ghee in moderation as a healthy fat source. It supports digestion and improves metabolism better than refined oils.

  • Use coarse flour made from wheat, barley, or lentils instead of refined flour for chapatis or breads.

  • Consuming one-year-old rice is easier to digest and is recommended over freshly harvested rice, which may lead to bloating and weight gain.

  • Add green gram (moong) soup to your meals every alternate day. It’s high in protein, low in fat, and supports effective weight management.

  • For snacks, opt for roasted chickpeas, puffed rice, and plain popcorn instead of fried or packaged snacks.

  • Sipping warm water regularly helps improve digestion, reduce bloating, relieve constipation, and support gradual weight loss.

  • Avoid eating without appetite. Practice mindful eating by listening to your body's hunger cues and stopping when you're satisfied - not full.

  • Engage in regular morning and evening exercise, such as walking, jogging, or light workouts, preferably on an empty stomach to enhance fat burning.

  • Incorporate yoga and breathing techniques (pranayama) into your daily routine to boost physical strength, reduce stress, and improve mental well-being.

  • Consume Triphala churna with warm water before bedtime. It helps relieve constipation, detoxify the body, and promote natural fat reduction.
