Causes of Nail Fungus
Prolonged exposure to cosmetics, chemical-treated water, or stagnant water.
Certain professions, such as farming, working in asbestos factories, or in paper and textile printing, increase the risk of fungal infections.
Presence of fungal or other skin infections on other parts of the body.
Symptoms of Nail Fungus
Nails that become brittle or change colour.
Peeling or scaling skin beneath the nails.
Yellow or white spots appear under the nails.
Nails growing at an angle or becoming slanted.

Effective Home Remedies for Nail Fungus
Combine a few drops of tea tree oil with one teaspoon of olive or coconut oil. Apply this mixture to the affected nail and let it sit for 10 minutes. Repeat 2 to 3 times daily.
Mix one part white vinegar with two parts warm water. Soak the affected nail for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Repeat twice daily until the fungus clears.
Crush garlic into a fine paste and mix with white vinegar. Soak the infected finger in this mixture for some time.
Apply lemon juice around the infected nail and leave it for 15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with water.
Mix five drops each of lavender oil and tea tree oil, then apply around the affected nail. Leave on for at least 10 minutes, wash off, and dry completely. Repeat 2 to 3 times daily.
Massage coconut oil gently into the affected nail, allowing it to absorb and dry naturally. Repeat 2 to 3 times daily until healed.
Apply olive leaf extract to the infected nail regularly for relief.
Soak a cotton piece in baking soda mixed with water and apply it to the fungus. Leave for 5 to 10 minutes to help reduce infection.
Make a paste from basil or mint leaves, apply it to the nails, and then cover it with gauze or a bandage. Leave on for 4 to 5 hours to reduce fungal infection.
