Cellulitis is a serious and painful skin condition caused by a bacterial infection, resulting in inflammation and discomfort.
Causes of Cellulitis
Primarily contracted through cuts, wounds, and abrasions on the skin.
Mainly caused by bacterial infections such as:
- Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
- Streptococcus.
- Staphylococcus.
Bacterial infections can also be transmitted through insect or spider bites.
Symptoms of Cellulitis
Redness and swelling
Pain and tenderness in the affected area
Fever
Blisters
Warmth over the infected skin
Occasionally: chills, dizziness, and body aches
